Canadian Companies

I was doing alot of research and as I did I saw alot of Canadian start ups in app development and yet not to many companies in regards to clothing and random other industries. I seen alot of foreign owned companies running out of this country . I have no issue with foreign companies ruining out or our country just to be clear. I was questioning the simple fact that we here in Canada do not have that many made in Canada companies. Why is this I asked? Is it labour costs? Cost of materials to make products? Taxes? or perhaps that alot our products are made in china and sold back to us . I started thinking back to a news report I saw about the USA selling Canadian made cars back to us for almost double the cost or refusing to sell them to Canadian citizens because these private companies told them to do this. I honestly do not know if this is still the case but needless to say when I saw this news broadcast I was sitting there looking at it like WTF?.. It got me thinking. What if for some reason Canada federal government were making secret trade deals selling out our Canadian companies for profit? Was NAFTA a good deal? Was the TPP? Did the prime minister every once decide to post the trade deals contracts online for us all to see so that we the public can decide for ourselves what is best for our country(which was but not many people have actually read it) .. Well no he did not consult the public. Instead he conducted business behind closed doors . I think it is in the public best interests to be involved in the decision making process and not just major companies backing government. Just a FYI as I just found it. I wonder how many people have actually read this. I just started reading it and already i see problems. One big one is it ends Tariffs under most conditions which governments make alot of money on . The second thing is that when reading it, the agreement waves the right to restrict goods coming into Canada . SO if we have imports that may contain drugs or weapons from a company overseas or perhaps a civil disagreement we can not black list that company. This is fundamentally wrong . I do understand why our government made the deal in regards to the tariff but the second part hell no . Why did'nt media tell the public this? I am rather disappointed, What else are we not being told?Ohh and here is the TPP text . See below link.
